Teltplass

Privacy policy

Teltplass is a pocket rulebook for wild camping in Norway and Chilean Patagonia. It collects no personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device.

Effective date: 26 September 2026

Data collected: none. Teltplass has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. We do not run a server that receives data from the app.

Information stored on your device

Spots you log: name, note, rulebook, terrain, distance to the nearest house, the dates of your nights and, if you enter it, the name of the landowner who gave consent.
Photos you take or choose for a spot, kept in the app's own storage.
Saved rules, rules you have read, packing lists, Myth-or-law answers and milestones.
Settings such as haptics, sounds, reminders and your default rulebook (stored in the system's app preferences).

This information is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can remove it at any time with Settings → Erase all data, or by deleting the app.

How the information is used

Only to run the features on your device: counting nights per spot, showing your photos, remembering your lists and settings, and scheduling the reminders you switch on.

Permissions

Camera — used only when you tap Take photo, to photograph your pitch for the spot log.
Photo library — used only when you choose a photo for a spot through the system picker, which shares only the photo you select. Saving a verdict card adds that single image to your library.
Notifications — used only if you turn on reminders. They are scheduled locally on your device: the afternoon after a second night at a lowland spot, and on 14 April and 16 September for the fire ban.

Teltplass does not access your location, contacts, microphone or health data.

Official web pages

When you choose to open an official source inside the app (Lovdata, CONAF, Pases Parques or DNT), the page is loaded directly from that website. Like any web page, that site receives standard technical information such as your IP address, and its own privacy policy applies. Teltplass adds nothing to these requests.

Children

Teltplass does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Data sharing and sale

We do not collect, share or sell personal data.

Your rights

Because no personal data reaches us, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on your behalf. All your data is under your control on your device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page and in the app with a new effective date.
